A Special Chance
When the 2015 Special Olympics World Games comes to Los Angeles from July 25 to Aug. 2—bringing 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches from 177 countries—Toyota will play a huge role as the event’s official automotive sponsor.

Toyota and the Special Olympics are old friends. It all started in 1989, when Toyota sponsored the Southern California Special Olympics. And the relationship has continued in the 26 years since. But this summer will top everything the organizations have done together. The World Games will be the largest sporting event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Summer Olympics.

In addition to the corporate sponsorship, almost 700 Toyota employees will volunteer at the Games.

Toyota dealerships are getting involved and you can, too. Is there a Special Olympics athlete in your area? Each Toyota regional office will set a fundraising goal of $2,500 for each athlete within its area. Dealerships can commit to help fundraise and support these regional athletes. Fundraising dollars will go to the World Games to help support athletes and their coaches for the events.

For more information on dealership participation, contact your Region representative or Kathy Mota at kathy_mota@toyota.com.
